Four persons are in the grips of the Ofaakor Police for allegedly shooting to death a 37 year old man at Papaase No.1 over a potracted boundary dispute.
This incident happened at Awutu Ofaakor in the Awutu Senaya East Municipal of the Central Region.
Sources say that the 37 year old Isaac Mensah met his untimely death when he was followed up to a parcel of land belonging to him which some persons from Ngleshie Amafrom area had encroached.
This encroached Ngleshie Amanfrom land had been in dispute over the years with people loosing their lives day in and day out.
According to a witness , the incident happened around 8am on Thursday 10th March 2022 after four individuals from Ngleshie Amanfrom visited the disputed land which lie between Papaase No.1 and Ngleshie Amanfrom to engage in sand winning activities.
Facetvnews' interaction with the leadership of the Papaase No.1 township revealed that their land shared no boundary with Ngleshie Amafrom and cannot fathom the reason for that constant encroachment.
They say even last year three persons were killed in connection with the boundary dispute.
The Odikro of Papaase No.1 Nii Nai Kwao Abequaye explained that their land has no boundary with the Amanfrom stool land so he doesn't see why they keep encroaching the area .
He said the issue at hand is not anything to joke with because innocent lives are lost almost every now and then.
He called for urgent attention from the Government and other Security Agencies.
Reacting to the matter , a brother to one of the four arrested suspects Nii Armah says the brother is innocent of the crime .
He said those attribution to the claims that his brother is part is neither here nor there.
Adding that the narrative surrounding the shooting of the 37 year old is fabricated and does not represent the true facts on the ground.
Residents in and around the Papaase enclave called for urgent attention as this has put fear in them .
The suspects are in remand at the Ofaakor Police Command soon to be arraigned before court.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police morgue awaiting autopsy.
"The investigation into the matter has just began and whatever comes out will be made known to the Public ", the Police assured.
